Construction work at Zurich Airport: timetable changes over four weekends

Due to maintenance work at Zurich Airport, train services will be restricted over four weekends between 17 January and 10 February 2025. The work will result in train cancellations and changes to journey times. SBB recommends that you check the online timetable before starting your journey.

SBB is renewing eight points at Zurich Airport.

SBB conducts regular maintenance work on the line to keep trains running smoothly and on time. This includes Zurich Airport station, where eight rail road switsches are being replaced. To reduce the impact on passengers and local residents, SBB is completing the work over four consecutive weekends.

Weekends affected:

  • Friday, 17 January, 11.01pm, until Monday, 20 January 2025, start of operations
  • Friday, 24 January, 11.01pm, until Monday, 27 January 2025, start of operations
  • Friday, 31 January, 11.01pm, until Monday, 3 February 2025, start of operations
  • Friday, 7 February, 11.01pm, until Monday, 10 February 2025, start of operations

The construction work will lead to cancellations and timetable changes for long-distance and regional services on the Zurich main station to Winterthur route.

Check online timetable

SBB recommends that all passengers check the connections in the online timetable or SBB mobile app before each journey. These are updated accordingly and always suggest the best connections. SBB will also inform customers of changes to the timetable via on-train announcements and by means of advertising, disruption and service status screens at the station. If you have any questions, the SBB Contact Center will be happy to help at 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.).
